Nearness is an original mixed-media sighthound portrait celebrating the quiet, instinctive bond between a dog and their person.
Created by hand in my studio using acrylic, graphite and coloured pencil, the painting captures a black whippet gazing upwards while being gently held. The dog’s dark silhouette contrasts with soft blush, cream and chalky white tones, while loose lines and visible marks give this piece an intimate, contemporary feel.
