Held is an original contemporary whippet portrait painting celebrating the tenderness and trust shared between a dog and their person.
Created by hand in my studio using acrylic paint, coloured pencil, pastel pencil and graphite, it captures a black whippet reaching towards a familiar face as its head is gently cradled in two hands. The deep black silhouette contrasts with a minimalist palette of soft blush and chalky white, while expressive lines and visible marks give the piece a modern, intimate feel.
