Blanket Statement is an original contemporary dog portrait painting celebrating the distinctive character and quiet humour of the sighthound - in this case, the black whippet.
Created by hand in my studio using acrylic and oil stick, it captures a black sighthound looking directly towards the viewer while wrapped in a boldly striped blanket. The dog’s dark face and warm amber eyes contrast with crisp white stripes and a soft lavender background, giving the portrait a graphic, modern quality.
