Black Velvet is an original, one-of-a-kind acrylic painting, created to capture the quiet dignity and graceful form of the whippet. Drawing on the stillness in the posture and the softness in the gaze — that moment of calm presence that sighthounds do so well.
Painted on canvas board using professional-grade acrylics, the piece features a soft rose-toned background to gently contrast the deep tones of the coat. allowing for subtle shifts in light and form while retaining a painterly presence. Soft transitions contrast with sharper edges around the silhouette, drawing attention to the whippet’s elegance and inner stillness.
