This Signature Portrait tier offers a little more room for expression and painterly detail, while still keeping a clean, contemporary feel. I’m always drawn to personality first, expression, posture, and those small, telling details that make a dog unmistakably themselves. My aim is to create artwork that makes dog people stop, smile, and quietly think, that’s exactly my dog.
My portraits often carry a playful edge, gently nodding to the way we sometimes see our dogs through a very human lens. A softly wrapped winter jumper, a pair of sunglasses, or a subtle styling detail can become a quiet way of expressing character, mood, or attitude.
That said, this doesn’t have to mean props at all. Some of the most powerful portraits are the simplest ones, no collar, no accessories, just your dog as they are. I always let personality lead, and we can keep things beautifully minimal if that feels right for you

My Approach
Every portrait begins with character. I focus on expression, body language, and presence, allowing your dog’s personality to guide the composition. Any styling is added thoughtfully and sparingly, always in service of connection rather than novelty.
The result is a portrait that feels personal, expressive, and recognisably them.

Once your commission is booked, I’ll send you a short, friendly form where you can tell me a little about your dog, their personality, any quirks you love, and anything you’d like included or avoided. You’ll also be able to upload reference photographs and share any details that feel important. This helps me create a portrait that feels considered, intuitive, and genuinely reflective of your dog.

Materials & Craft
Each portrait is painted entirely by hand by me in my UK studio using archival professional-grade, traditional artist materials on archival heavyweight, lightly textured watercolour paper.
I work with a combination of acrylic paint, oil pastel, and coloured pencil and inks, chosen for their depth, texture, and longevity.
Working from your reference photographs, I translate everything into a modern, expressive artwork that balances character with restraint, creating something thoughtful, stylish, and made to be treasured.
